Cardiff MOT Centre LogoClass 4 MOT’s in Cardiff by Heath Tyres Auto Centre

The purpose of an MOT test is to ensure that your car meets road safety and environmental standards
For new cars, you need to have a test done 3 years after the first registration date. For cars, after 3 years old you need an MOT test carried out every year. We offer Cardiff MOT tests and surrounding areas.

We are licensed to carry out MOT’s on class 4 vehicles only which include –
– Cars (up to seven seats)
– Small vans
– Private hire and public service vehicles (up to seven seats)
– Up to 3 Ton in design gross weight

Each Cardiff MOT costs a standard £54.85

If your car passes or fails its split into 5 categories
– pass (your car meets the standards provided)
– Advisory (still a pass but with issues that could become more serious in the future)
– Minor (still a pass with a notice of repair as soon as possible)
– Major (a failed MOT with the notice of repair and fix immediately)
– Dangerous (a fail with the notice of do not drive until cars have been repaired and retested)

If your car fails an MOT with a dangerous defect and you are caught driving on the roads, you could face up to £2,500 fine and 3 penalty points.

Check your cars MOT status.

If your car fails its MOT, you have 10 working days to repair and have the car retested, after those 10 days and the car hasn’t been retested, the car will have to be tested again and therefore be charged for another test.
